Block Size

Hi, We are running Informix 11.50.FC6 on Solaris 10. We are testing a new flash array storage solution. They are telling us we will get best performance if we do our DB writes in 4k block sizes. Is there any way in Informix to define the block sizes? If I understand correctly, this is something that is different than page sizes. Thank You, --Dave --089e0158b6bad9e9eb04e57b6aa1
Hmmmm.... Tricky question. Most of the times Informix will write in page size blocks. We can read/write bigger chunks when doing read ahead or (I believe) during chunk writes. Also for HPL and external tables we can do bigger writes. But the only control we have about that is by defining the page size. You can't define the page size for the dbspaces rootdbs and any other with "system objects" like logical logs and physical log. Regards.
