troubles to transfer blob data from one to an other Db Server

Hi
I'm currently involved in a web project where we are using the newest
Informix Version with the universal data option. We have two different
machines. One machine with a DB Server for preparing the content for the
web and one machine with a DB Server for the productive environment.
My task is it to write stored procedures which are deploying the data
from
the development machine to the productive environment. I can reach
the productive server without problems with the syntax
db@server:table. Everything is working fine. But as soon I try
to transfer blob data to the server complains with the message
'not implemented yet'
Argghhhhhh.....
See the following fragment of code for an example how I
attempted to solve the problem:
SELECT LOTOFILE(bild, bildname, 'client')
INTO dummy
FROM buttons WHERE buttons.buttonid = v_buttonid;
INSERT INTO online2000@sun_net:buttons
(buttonid, zeitstempel, button, bild, mimetype, artid,
punktex, punktey)
VALUES(v_buttonid, v_zeitstempel, v_button,
FILETOBLOB( bildname, 'client'),
v_mimetype, v_artid, v_punktex, v_punktey);
Anybody know a solution?
Thanks Herbie
9.3 supports distributed queries with blobs.
For now you would need to use text or byte columns instead of blob/clob
columns.

We have written a few load programs which are loading binary data such as pictures into the database. I can't find a practicable way in the docu to load byte data in the database similar to the function filtoblob. How do I load Byte Columns in the database? In $INFORMIXDIR/demo/esqlc there is a demo program, blobload.ec which could be used or modified for this purpose.
