RE: Linux and Informix

Brian, there has been quite a long lasting thread, in the recent past, in which many developers have asked for an Informix port and more affordable licence prices, at least for developers. It ended the way it started, with no official (or unofficial, for that matter) answer from anyone at Informix. Forget about that ISO9000 standard excuse (That's the exact name for it!). I'm no ISO9000 certification expert (Billy!), but as it has eloquently said here before, Informix could support its own Linux distribution and be ISO9000 compliant. I don't say this lightly- I ran on SCO (and swore by it) for almost 7 years before evaluating Linux and finding it so. Now, if I could only get Informix to write for it! I called them up and got an answer that I think is BS. They said they'd support it, but that it would violate their ISO9000 standard for which they worked so hard. I haven't worked in an ISO9000 facility...is this BS or could there be some truth to it? Also, would anyone have any Informix 4GL work-alike that runs on Linux?
