Oops: In germany the user-definition of informix contains a sentence, which i may not have correctly translated: Each connection to a multiplexer - e.g. a transaction monitor - is counted as a user. Informix is n o t counting the number of connections, which is reduced by the multiplexer. Isn't your "middleware-like data server" a multiplexer in this meaning? Or is the US-definition of users missing such a clause? hth martin
