Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Hi everyone. Please pardon my basic generic question here-just trying to be
careful. I want to 'play' around with oncheck and onmonitor in a dev
environment a bit. So I have the Informix 9.4 admin manual that talks about
these utuils. Here's my question..with oncheck it is safe to use as long as
one does do use a repair option? Is that correct? And with onmonitor...as one
just uses onmonitor to view objects, again no harm can be expected? Is that
correct? I appreciate any responses. Thanks
With oncheck you're safe with the -p options, with onmonitor you're safe as
long as you don't go into the Parameters menu (which is disabled for users
other than informix) or if you do, don't save any changes. To safely look what
config parameters are being used use onstat -c.
