Re: Installing IDS 7.3 on RH 6.0 (2)

Hi!
First you can try changing the following lines in your onconfig file:
> DBSERVERNAME proteus # Name of default database server
> DBSERVERALIASES proteus # List of alternate dbservernames
> NETTYPE # Configure poll thread(s) for nettype
to
> DBSERVERNAME proteus # Name of default database server
> DBSERVERALIASES # List of alternate dbservernames
> NETTYPE soctcp,,,NET # Configure poll thread(s) for nettype
I have doubts it will help, but try.
If this will not help, try to look at system calls performed
by oninit using truss (well, I don't know exactly what command
to use on Linux, but on SCO it's truss), like:
truss -fa -t open,bind,listen,accept -v open,bind,listen,accept -o trace.log oninit -i
If this wil not give you any clues, try removing the -t option to log
all system calls.
Best Regards,
Octav
