connection 25507 error

I've got informix installed on an aix box. I'm trying to connect to it via the client sdk installed on a solaris 2.5 box, but I'm getting error 25507. My sqlhosts on the client has the entry: INF2 onsoctcp tirade 1536 I've tried the ip, the full domain name, and just the machine name (as shown above) for the third field in the sqlhosts file. I've been able to connect to the informix server from another aix box. Any other ideas of what to check to fix this error?
