I'm not even sure that's enough to justify bodging your RAID-based
setup. It's a simple enough matter to move the logs.
In fact what I'm tempted to recommend they do is to start off with the
logs in (a suitably large) rootdbs, and move them if someone comes up
with a convincing reason to do so during the acceptance testing phase.
