I am using wordwrap, or trying to. When taking input of up to 1024 char from the wordwrapped field it adds it fine to the table. However, when reading it back into the field to edit it, it will only will give me about 300 odd characters back. What am I doing wrong. Thanks Greg greg.taane@crt.co.nz
CHAR type is limited to 256 characters. Whats happening is that the remaining bytes are being truncated during the INSERT statement. -- "Gregory Taane" <greg.taane@crt.co.nz> wrote in message news:8fad81$nf0$1@news.xmission.com... > > I am using wordwrap, or trying to. > When taking input of up to 1024 char from the wordwrapped field it adds it > fine to the table. > However, when reading it back into the field to edit it, it will only will > give me about 300 odd characters back. > > What am I doing wrong. > > Thanks > > Greg > > greg.taane@crt.co.nz >

VARCHAR is limited to 255 characters. > Whats happening is that the remaining bytes > are being truncated during the INSERT statement. > > -- > > "Gregory Taane" <greg.taane@crt.co.nz> wrote: > > I am using wordwrap, or trying to. > > When taking input of up to 1024 char from the wordwrapped field it adds it > > fine to the table. You've established this with DB-Access, or some equivalent process? > > However, when reading it back into the field to edit it, it will only will > > give me about 300 odd characters back. > > > > What am I doing wrong. Are you using enough storage space (CHAR vs VARCHAR)?
