Re: I can't bring up the KAIO on IDS 7.30 under SCO Open Server.
Posted in 2000
I manage to get KAIO on SCO Open Server with the following steps:
- enable aio and suds support in kernel
- edit /etc/conf/sdevice.d/suds so that N will become Y
- enable aio with command mkdev aio
- compile new kernel and reboot machine
- install patch for suds oss441a
- configure kernel parameters:
NAIOPROC =16
NAIOREQ =200
NAIOBUF =200
NAIOHBUF =50
NAIOREQPP =200
NAIOLOCKTBL=20
- if you use SCSI disks configure parameter SDSKOUT
- export environment variable KAIOON=1
I have to say that I have problem with KAIO on SCO ODT5. After 2 or 3
days running machine was slowed down. The only thing which helps was
reboot. I was not able to solve this problem, so I move to Linux and on
Linux Informix works FAST.
