Why do you run it at this ungodly hour? Does it impact on performance so much?
If you have lots of disk you could archive to a disk file then copy to tape at
your leisure. But I doubt you have 5Gb of disk just lying around!
Otherwise, buy a bigger tape drive! They are cheap compared to work at 3am!
