This will not work on SE if rows are deleted from the table. The rowid represents the physical position in the table. If a row is deleted, a newly inserted row might go into the empty slot and inherit that rowid - and will therefore not be the max rowid on the table. "Josep M. Also, I had heard that ROWIDs were going away and wouldn't be supported anymore. I don't know if this is actually true, but...
