Error Code -908 on Linux IDS

I have installed the Linux IDS 7.30UC5 on RedHat 5.2 Everything is OK on server side. When I try to use "ilogin" ( Informix-Connect for Win32 ) to connect the server, I always get error code -908. Can anyone know what's wrong ? Thanks. Jung-Hui Cheng cheng@dbtel.com.tw DBTEL Incorporated.

Well, that particular error could indicate everything really isn't ok on the server side. 1. Can you ping and telnet to the server? If so... 2. Did you configure a network connection in the sqlhosts file on the server? If so... 3. Did you make sure that engine would listen on that connection by specifying the informix server name from the sqlhost file on either the DBSERVERNAME or DBSERVERALIAS line in the onconfig file? If so... 4. Does a ping from the server to itself, and a ping from the client to the server both go against the same ip address? If not you may have two network cards on the server, and the engine could be listening on the wrong one. Rob Z.
