ODBC Performance Issues

We have an application that uses the Informix 2.40 Client SDK to connect to an Informix 7.30 server. We use RogueWave's DBTools as out database API. The latest upgrade to DBTools switched from using esql to using the Informix CLI (the ODBC driver) and performance has gone down the hole.
