Mike, no.
The whole point here is that the engine does NOT create a unique index on the serial. The schema editor does, but not the engine.
To have it created by the engine, you'd have to
create table Mike
(marco serial primary key # or unique, for that matter
.....
)
So you don't even need to drop the index, if you don't use isql/dbaccess
(And that was where I got confused...)
