Hello there, I'm sorry to tell you that you are (as far as I know) not correctly informed on this item. DBESCWT is used by Informix to determinate how long to wait for a keystroke that consists of more that 1 key. You will typically see this from function keys e.g. a vt100 F1 sends '<escape>OP'. Normally you don't worry about this since it is set up (I hope) in your termcap file. We have used DBESCWT when having Informix read keystokes from a pipe. In this instance the keystrokes are feed to fast to Informix so it reads F1 as <escape>,O,P and therefore don't do what you wanted it to do on a F1. Back to your problem; In Denmark we also have national characters which can be garbled by Informix. I don't think that there is a solution to this yet, but I have heard somewhere that Informix is working on a version which supports the use of 8bit character sets and thereby all national characters. But if or when it will be released ????. If you should get a solution to your problem though, then I would appriciate if you will send me a copy of the solution. Kind regards.
