restore question in RSS environment

Hi Below are the scene and steps . 1, do full instance backup in primary.Customer config log backup in the primary also. 2, RSS take over as primary, old primary became rss, and run the application in the new primary for some days. New primary always do log backup continuously. Can I restore to point in time with full backup in the old primary and logical log backups (either in old primary or new primary) ? thanks.

Hi, You can only do point in time recovery if you use 'onbar' with a storage manager to do your backups. http://informix.hcldoc.com/help/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.bar.doc%2Fids_bar_235 .htm If you use 'ontape' it is possible to restore and roll forward logical logs but there is no means provided to stop the log restore at a specific point. In both cases you'd need a level 0 backup pre-dating the point in time you'd want to restore to. Ben.
