[Linux] IDS doesnt start
Hello !
I'm trying to set up IDS for Linux on S.u.S.E 6.1, Kernel 2.0.36 with
Large-Fd-Patch. IDS 7.30.U . Build date Dec 8 1998.
When I try to setup the server, I always get an error message saying:
informix@uhvlinmix:~ > oninit -s
oninit: Fatal error in initializing ASF with 'ASF_INIT_DATA' flags;
asfcode = '2
5507'.
What does this mean ? Library conflicts ? Any Ideas ?

That version of IDS needs a 2.2.10 or later kernel (or the patched 2.2.5
kernel in RedHat 6.0).

I had the same problem. In your message log should be record
like that:
09:20:04 shmget: [EEXIST][17]: key 52564804: shared memory alreadyexists
09:20:04 (2) shm creation of shmem segment failed
This segment is locked by applications (for example dbaccess).
You have to close all Informix applications or restart Linux.
