RE: Which RAID to use, SMS notification

To all those not interested, please ignore. Easy if you a GSM Mobile Company and have all the equipment. Your Solutions: 1. 24x7 Priority SMS, 1 to 2 second relay time. You need access to your local GSM Operator's SMSC {The server sending the SMS's to your mobile}. A network link to that box {Mostly HP}. You bind to that SMSC deamon {And stay binded}. Talk SMPP protocol. I can send you SMPP docs if you need. Can send bulk, get delivery request, etc. We even wrote a sms_gateway that does load sharing on multiple SMSC's, priority, etc. Can connect to deamon via telnet, TCP Socket. 2. Look at http://www.wavecom.com. There are other's also. You can get a GSM modem. Connect to server via serial. Can send SMS/DATA/FAX. Cannot handle load. {SMPP much more features} Not 24x7. A base station can go down and then no network {GSM} connection. Still have C code someware for wavecom if you need. 3. Most GSM's offer a unreliable, slow, free service via email. EG: mail to 08. ... ....@sms.bla.bla 4. Send via web. There are lost of links but also unreliable, slow, free. Search net. Look at http://www.cellular.co.za/ Do not know how to implement automation ? Let me know if you are interested in 1 or 2. The best for actions/warnings. We know about problems before client/user does. I'd really like to get my hands on your box-to-SMS technology. How is that done? Do I need to beg? Pay some company some money?
