Informix Installation on Sun Containers

All, We are preparing to set up four identical test environments for an application. The hardware folks decided to use a single Sun server divided into four containers (zones). At first, we planned on installing the binaries in the global zone, but the application folks want the INFORMIXSERVER, INFORMIXDIR, and ONCONFIG values to be identical in each zone. I think that keeping these environments looking identical requires us to install a separate set of binaries in each container. Because licensing and maintenance are based upon physical CPU's (or cores), multiple installations on the same physical server should be considered a single installation - that's my interpretation. Has anyone had experience installing Informix on Sun containers or does anyone know of a white paper on this type of installation? We will be installing IDS 9.40.UC4 on Solaris 10. Don't know why you'd want or need to have INFORMIXSERVER and/or ONCONFIG identical for each server instance, but it should work no problems. Art S.
