You did include the OS and DB type and version, but you forgot the key
information on what application you are using.
DBCENTURY is implemented both in the engine and for tools for
different purposes.
If the application is 4GL it doesn't support DBCENTURY until ver. 7.2
which is just beeing released.
ESQL/C, dbaccess and other tools support it in different versions that
are documented at the end of the page you refer to.
Also remember that DBCENTURY isn't all easy. I.e. a date in a literal
string coming from any tool will be interpreted by the engine so it's
supported even with 4GL prior to 7.2 (or an ODBC based application or
anything else where you might not think of DBCENTURY immediately).
Entering and displaying dates via 4GL or other tools is however an
application issue, so the tool must understand the variable.
