HEALTHVISION PORTS CLINICAL PATIENT RECORDS APPLICATION TO INFORMIX FOR WIN WITH SUTTER HEALTH Menlo Park, Calif. (February 23, 1998) =AD Informix=AE Corporation (NASDAQ: IFMX), the leading provider of innovative database technology, announced today a contract with HealthVISION Corporation, a leading provider of clinical information systems, to integrate HealthVISION's flagship CareVISION=AE automated patient record management application with Informix database technology. The integrated product will use Informix Dynamic Server(TM) as CareVISION's clinical data repository. Sutter Health, a California based healthcare network, has recently signed a contract to incorporate the CareVISION product using Informix technology into all of its 26 acute care facilities. The implementation of CareVISION, already under way and planned to take place in a four to five year roll out, would replace Sutter's paper medical records and support proficient communication between enterprise caregivers. The reach of this application is expected to grow to over 3800 users within the next five years at Sutter Health, a conglomeration of physicians, hospitals and care centers serving more than three million people throughout northern California. Informix and HealthVISION are currently engineering the port to Informix Dynamic Server and are expecting its release to Sutter by end of April 1998. "Once the Informix Dynamic Server patient record repository is in place, customers like Sutter Health will have the option of considering further tools to extract business measures into a data warehouse or decision support system," said John McCauley, executive director of worldwide industry marketing at Informix. "Informix's relational database is a scalable and reliable platform for HealthVISION's dynamic patient records application."
