Workgroup Server only supports one CPU VP which is used to do the most CPU intensive tasks. CPU VP(s) use up 99% of the CPU time which Online uses. AIO VPS + LIO VP (Logical logging) + PIO (physical logging) VPs + ADM (ADmin VP)s + MSC VPs (Misc. takss requiring a large stack) will be able to run on the second CPU. However there are heavily I/O bound (being mainly a separate process just so that Online does not block waiting for I/O). Certainly with 3 CPUS you should be looking at DSA now called Online Dynamic Server i.e. the full-blown product. >Aaron Propes > >On Mon, 02 Feb 1998 20:18:27 GMT, alpropes@bitstream.net (Aaron >Propes) wrote: > >>My office is switching, by recommendation of our accounting/oe vendor, >>from SE to Informix Workgroup Server.
