RDBMS DESIGNER - UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY - WASH, DC AREA

We have a unique opprtunity for the right person. If you have database development experience you have found the right place. This is a solid company located outside Washington, DC in suburban Maryland with tremendous growth potential. The $$$$ and related benefits are commensurate with the challenge involved. I need a database guru with a minimum of 10 years overall programming experience with at least 3 years in relational database design and implementation. You will be responsible for providing overall systems programming support for the company's proprietary data warehouse product. You will be expected to a major contributor in the development of the overall product specifications (we build the hardware too!!!) and play the key role in the software design of the database. You will need strong UNIX C/C++ and object oriented programming skills. The following quote is directly from the hiring manager. He needs someone with proven internal RDBMS design skills not just a DBA with tuning skills. "We need a system software (product) developer, 10 years or more experience. UNIX software products preferred. The key experience is working in the internals of a database product. One more time: this does NOT mean they built a database with Oracle. It means they built Oracle. Or any other(possibly obscure and proprietary) relational-like software product. The resume presented is a DBA (A = architect or administrator). Such a person could be useful to us as an SE or in Customer Support (we tend to get involved in our customers' database designs), but it is not the experience I am looking for."
