In later versions of OnLine and SE, you can do it with Informix too.
You set the environment variable DELIMIDENT, and then you can write
preposterous statements, provided that you use double quotes consistently
around identifiers (especially those with blanks etc in them, or column
names which are case sensitive), and you use single quotes exclusively
to enclose string literals.
SELECT *
FROM "SomeUser"."Widget Table" A, "OtherBod"."Some Other Table" B
WHERE A."Primary Key Column" = B."Foreign Key Column"
If you try doing this with I4GL, I guarantee that you'll either be grey
or bald (depending on how hard your tear your hair) before you get it
all working. I4GL has a constitutional preference for double quotes,
and won't work under DELIMIDENT. It says so in the release notes, and
it isn't joking.
