Informix size limit on sql query through ODBC, ASP?

Can anyone tell me if there is a size limit on a sql statement sent to Informix via ODBC? How can I change this value on the fly (such as in an ASP page) or do I have to set the value in Informix? I have a requirement to update one of my company's web reports to run for a date range up to 31 days.Presently, the report will only allow just one day. I have implemented the sql for this new report by using a do-while-loop and then appending one 'select [fields] from [tables] union...' query to a String for each date (eg 6/2/03, 6/3/03, etc...). The query rocks (is very fast) when it does work, but as I increase the date range, the sql statement gets larger and I start getting "...An Exception Occured..." errors? I have narrowed down all obvious possibilities and some not-so-obvious possibilities and the only thing I can think of is that the sql statement for larger date ranges is too large for Informix to handle? I start getting the asp error messages when the sql statement grows to around 15k in size? Any help would be much appreciated, Thanks In Advance!
Certainly there is a limitation of size on SQL from ODBC. I have seen this with Informix 3.32 but can't remeber now the limit. I don't know whether ODBC has a smaller limit, but it shouldn't. > How can I change this value on the fly (such as in > an ASP page) or do I have to set the value in Informix? It is not a configurable parameter - again, in ESQL/C et al. -- Jonathan Leffler #include <disclaimer.h> Email: jleffler@earthlink.net, jleffler@us.ibm.com Guardian of DBD::Informix v2003.04 -- http://dbi.perl.org/
