Connections made to RSS are visible on PRIMARY
Posted in 2019
Dear All, Informix version 12.1FC10 on HP Unix and application running on RHEL 7 SET up has a PRIMARY, SDS and RSS We have a read only application that is pointed to RSS servers (direct connection to RSS server and NOT via Connection manager) When we start this application which does massive parallel selects on the RSS, we can see some of the connections from application server established on the PRIMARY server. Could there a situation that these applications requests are routed to primary for doing some work? or the connection with primary are only established and they do not really do any work on the primary server. It so happens that intermittently these READ ONLY transactions getting processed on RSS take 10x more time to complete and we wonder if that's happening because the transactions or some part of transactions are routed to PRIMARY and the delay between PRIMARY and RSS is the reason for high response time on RSS.
