question on SDK patch
Posted in 2006
Hello all: I've got a question that is probably rhetorical, but it still makes no sense to me. I have been having some problems with sporadic "abandoned mutex" errors using SDK 2.9 in .NET 2.0 running against a 9.4 server. I have found this error on the net, and all of them talk about a fix from IBM called 2.9 TC4XB. I could not find the patch on the net, so I decided to call IBM to find out about this fix. The gentleman who answered the phone transferred me to someone else in which I got their voicemail. I left my information, but never got a response from them. I certainly can understand that they may be busy - we're all busy. I am by no means a impatient person. I just can't understand why they make you call them and jump through hoops to get a fix. Every programmer out there would want their customers to use the latest and greatest because it works better than the previous versions. I am also led to believe that you have to have support with them in order to get this fix. Its probably why they aren't calling me back. Sorry for the rant, but if they made the fix available on line, I would never have had to call them in the first place in order to fix the driver. Joe
