Are you going through a DNS server to find the IP? Are you having any other similar problems using telnet or ftp? The disconnect would be something in the ODBC driver, most likely. *If U use VB6, try to switch to ADO + OLEDB. Connection should not take that long, and the disconnection might cause by closing our connection inside the application. *Try to Declare and connect to the DB on a global level in your App, and close it only when the app is closed. *Try to use only one connection to the DB *Don't Attach tables !
