I have a question as to the best possible layout for an Informix instance. Here is the setup: 12 (9 GB) Disk Total 1 (9 GB) Disk Hot Swap 1 (9 GB) Disk For Future Use 10 (9 GB) Disk for Informix These are SSA drives 2 adaptors with two paths (loops) We would like to go RAID 0+1 We have two proposals: 1) One large 5 disk Array. Everything spread out everywhere. I claim contention here. My SA says otherwise. 2) One small 1 disk array (for rootdbs, llogdbs, etc...) and one 4 disk array (for data) Any recommendations would be helpful.
