Re: Informix suing Oracle?
Posted in 1997
I live in Salem, Oregon. The employees involved in this incident worked for Informix in Portland, Oregon. There have a couple of articles in local newspapers about this. I have also seen an article in Infoworld. I find it quite a fascinating phenomonon. An entire development team quit Informix and has been hired by Oracle. This team was involved in basic R&D for Informix although I don't remember the exact piece that they were working on. According to Oracle the team approached them and wanted to go work for Oracle. I can only guess at the reasons. According to Informix they were lured away. The last I saw Informix was suing the employees because they had signed non-compete and non-disclosure agreements with Informix. Informix also let the former employees know that, with a few exceptions, they could come back at any time. I haven't heard anything about this for a few days, but if I do I'll post it. ---------- } From: Michael Silver <MICHAELS@dartinc.com> } To: 'informix-list@rmy.emory.edu' } Subject: RE: Informix suing Oracle? } Date: Thursday, February 27, 1997 10:57 } } In PC Week or Infoworld, Informix's CEO addressed this somewhat.
