dropping db action is logged

question for the experts why is it when you drop a database the transaction is logged ? After all you are droping db because you dont want it . I guess i am going to have to turn logging off once the log transaction has rollled back and try again. IBM Informix Dynamic Server Version 11.50.FC6

So that if you recover the server, the database gets dropped.
