Hi group, I'm in process to switch from SQL*Server to Informix IDS 9.20 (on NT and Solaris 7). I always got a -1811 error with all my applications as well as with demo applications. Has any WebObjects/Informix developer worked this around ? Thanks in advance Gilles Lenfant glt@equod.com PS The error message (from WebObjects) __JavaBridge Stack Trace: EOGeneralAdaptorException: warning: this error occured while running from a thread different than the thread that initialized the Informix client library. Accessing the Informix Client library from another thread does not generally work. Error -1811: Implicit connection not allowed after an explicit connection. at com.apple.yellow.eocontrol.EOEditingContext.objectsWithFetchSpecification(EOEditingContext.java:56) ...
Hi Gilles, I have not used WebObjects myself, however from the error message you are getting the issue may be related to WebObjects trying to to put multiple connection threads down a single ODBC connection. To do this I believe that you need to enable connection pooling for the driver. You do that in the ODBC driver manager, in there you will find an option to turn connection pooling on and off for the Informix ODBC driver, you need to enable it and also enable the perf monitor option as well. Let me know if that works. ben.
