Using most text editors, you can't see this on the screen. If you're using vi as your editor, you might try ':set list' to display all the emmbedded unprintable characters. I've often accidentally hit Cntl-Something in a fit of high speed inspiration, only to spend frustrating minutes arguing with the compiler about the legality of the code. Bryan Tonnet.
