HELP!!! System Calls in ESQL/COBOL
Posted in 1996
Hello all: I know that this is not a informix's problem, but I would like to get some help from you. I'm migrating an ESQL/COBOL application from a Bull platform to an AT&T. All the programs were compiled OK. This application has a program using systems calls for shared memory (shmget, shmat, ...). It was running OK on Bull, but now I'm getting some problems, I think, due to conflicting with kernel parameters. a) shmget works fine when the parameters are (Key: h"DB000000", Size: 20, msgflg: 0), returning a shared memory id = 18. But in the program the size must be 100: this causes an error EINVAL (22). b) The second step is to attach to the shared memory id returned from shmget using shmat. It never works fine. When shmget works fine (using 20 as size), shmat causes an error 2 (No such file or directory). What kernel parameters I have to check? NOTE: The shared memory kernel parameters are identical in both platforms. I'll appreciate your help!! ////// +---------------------------ooo-O-O-ooo--------------------------------+ | U | | Melvin Perez Cedano Santo Domingo, Dom.
