You need to work out which file it should be in. The answer seems to be 'perf.iem'. First question: does that file exist in $INFORMIXDIR/msg/en_us/0333? If not, then you need to install ISQL properly into your $INFORMIXDIR. Second question - assuming the answer to the first is 'no': Does that file contain message -3400. I have a message file decompiler called listiem; there is a version of that available in the IIUG Software Archive (Miscellaneous section). -- Jonathan Leffler <jonathan.leffler@gmail.com> #include <disclaimer.h> Guardian of DBD::Informix - v2011.0612 - http://dbi.perl.org "Blessed are we who can laugh at ourselves, for we shall never cease to be amused." --000e0cd5743a7555cc04ad89da63
Hi. It still doesn`t working. We have downloaded the message file compiler listiem from the iiug-software archive and looked with this tool in perf.iem. perf.iem contains all error messages and error -3400 as well. The file perf.iem exists in $INFORMIXDIR/msg/en_us/0333/, too. Has anybody an other idea, why we can`t display the error messages in ISQL7.50.UC5 instead of the error numbers, which were displayed at the moment due to an error? Thanks for your help. Sascha
Try making a copy of the message file (or a link to it) in $INFORMIXDIR/msg. Some of the older tools didn't understand the subdirectories and wanted the message files in the grandparent directory. I would think that ISQL 7.50 would have that fixed, but it's worth a try. Art Art S. There are a lot of environment variables that could be affecting this, but the primary ones are: CLIENT_LOCALE LC_ALL LANG Other LC_* variables plus some obscure (archaic) NLS ones might also be a factor. Moving the files into $INFORMIXDIR/msg (or linking them there from $INFORMIXDIR/msg/en_us/033) is not going to help - barring extraordinary bugs in the software. ISQL 7.50 uses CSDK 3.50 (still), and CSDK is quite happy with GLS (and ISQL has been happy with it too since at least ISQL 7.30, probably even 7.20). -- Jonathan Leffler <jonathan.leffler@gmail.com> #include <disclaimer.h> Guardian of DBD::Informix - v2011.0612 - http://dbi.perl.org "Blessed are we who can laugh at ourselves, for we shall never cease to be amused." --0015177418a0ac5aae04ae90da60
