I therefore cannot simply link to and call the standard Unix library functions. What I am looking for is a library specifically designed to be called from 4GL that places a "4GL friendly" wrapper around the standard socket library calls. I know this shouldn't be difficult to do, but I also figure (if you'll excuse the cliche) why should I re-invent the wheel? Irwin Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

Under the circumstances we have decided to add a "c friendly" call function in QueriX 4GL that would pass the "var_list" directly to the function. Sounds like a nice idea, however all I have to work with is Informix- 4GL 7.2. I don't think QueriX 4GL is an option here. I do think adding a "c friendly" call function to QueriX 4GL would be a nice enhancement to your product. -- Irwin Goldstein Objective Software Systems, Inc. http://www.objectsoft.com Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
