[Q] LOCALE and ORDER by char field

I use INFORMIX-OnLine 5 under SCO 3.2-4.2. Character data stored in ISO-8859-5 encoding (cyrillic character set). When I issue SELECT with ORDER BY character field, server sorts data according to character codes. Of course, I need to sort them in the alphabetical order. Can anyone help me to tune environment?
