Hi all, I have run this informix update program and got this system error: >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Program error at "ttt.4gl", line number 359. SQL statement error number -258. System error - invalid statement id received by the sqlexec process. Inside ttt.4gl line 359 where the delete statement is coded: 357 FUNCTION store_wx_text() 358 define work_int smallint 359 delete from wx where work_id = wkr.work_id #wkr.work_id is avariable. 360 let wxr.work_id = wkr.work_id >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Why is the statement id invalid when received by the sql process?. Please note that it does happen from time to time, not always. Environment: Informix SE 7.32 - IBM INFORMIX-SQL Version 7.32.FC2 Truly yours, Long Nguyen.
Hi Long, Since it is not occuring every time, it would be very difficult to find out the reason without much knowing about the data and other part of the table.. I would suggest two things, a) Print the value of "wkr.work_id" in log to see there is a junk value in this variable that might be causing the said error. For all failure , you might be able to find out a pattern... b) Prepare and execute the DELETE statement... Thanks Dharmendra, As I says it does not occur often and when we simulate with the same test on our PC it does not have such an error. Currently what we could resolve this issue is using ISQL to delete that record and re-create it, then the user could delete it thru that module. Still don't know the reason!. I may try the prepare statement in that module as suggested by you. Cheers, Long N. ________________________________ From: Dharmendra Sharma <dharmendrasharma@hotmail.com> To: ids@iiug.org Sent: Thu, 12 May, 2011 4:27:30 PM Subject: RE: SQL error -258 [23666] Hi Long, Since it is not occuring every time, it would be very difficult to find out the reason without much knowing about the data and other part of the table..
