Informix products for printing companies

A good friend owns a printing company which makes labels for various vendors, primarily in the food industry. His business has now grown so large that he badly needs to automate many of his manual processes (payroll/accounting, job estimating, scheduling, order tracking, etc.). I recommended he look for an off-the-shelf product, if available, by someone who specializes in this vertical market. He has since been contacted by a software vendor, PRIMAC, and asked me to look at their prospectus and sit in on a demo next week. Their UNIX product uses the UniData relational database, and they push IBM RISC 6000 computers. Several questions for anyone who may be able to help me: Anyone ever heard of PRIMAC? Recommend them? Anyone know of any products of this nature which run under Informix? I naturally prefer Informix since I am familiar with it, but I do not want to force him into a product which may not be best for his needs. Anyone ever heard of UniData? Good? Bad? How well does it port to platforms other than the IBM RISC 6000?
