I run 'onstat -g prc' and examine the output for a particular SPL. I observe a
number (12) reported under the "hits" column.
I believe this indicates that the particular SPL I am interested was accessed
from the cache 12 times.
Since when, though? Since Informix was last restarted? I don't see that info
in the documentation.
In other words, onstat -g prc tells me how many times a certain SPL was
executed since the server was last restarted?
Or maybe not. Maybe SPLs can leave the cache (being replaced by one used more
frequently), and then maybe come back in. In that case, the "hits" would be
reset, wouldn't it?
Just wondering in more detail how 'onstat -g prc' works.
Thank you.

Response:
It would be since the item was brought into cache, and yes it would be
possible for items to be removed from the cache is the cache isn't big enough
and it hits the cleaning threshold for a particular list.
