GLS

All, I am looking for any insight into Global Language Support (GLS) with Informix. In particular, pitfalls/limitations in implementation. Any documents/case studies/comments would be appreciated ( besides "read Informix GLS manual" ). Example of questions I need answered. How does Informix handle - CREATE TABLE foo_lang ( lang NCHAR( 1 ), col1 NCHAR( 18 ) ); CREATE INDEX i01_foolang on foo_lang( lang, col1 ); -- Index built with DB_LOCALE=en_US.819 -- What if a user has CLIENT_LOCALE set to != en_US.819? Skip index? Does Informix (or will they soon) allow multiple collated indexes on same table/column? Should I care and why/why not? Any info would be greatly appreciated! - Patrick McDonough
