Howard, Somebody may have created a table without specifying which dbspace to put it in. In that case it would end up in the root dbspace. Sue "howard.jones" <howard.jones@iclway.co.uk> on 18/04/2000 06:20:31 Please respond to "howard.jones" <howard.jones@iclway.co.uk> To: informix-list@iiug.org cc: (bcc: Sue Davidson/EXE) Subject: rootdbs space. The rootdbs on one of our servers has become dangerously full, is there anybody out there who would know the reason for this sudden increase in size... Cheers, Howard Jones
Thanks sue I had an idea it was that, how do I query this? I ran a select using count on the systables and the number was the same as another server with the same build..... Even though I'm not Sue, maybe I could help.
If you're running 7.x or higher, run this in dbaccess:
database sysmaster;
select tab.dbsname, tab.tabname, hdr.nptotal, dbs.name
from sysptnhdr hdr, systabnames tab, sysdbspaces dbs
where tab.partnum = hdr.partnum
and dbs.dbsnum = partdbsnum(tab.partnum)
and name = '<name of root dbspace>'
and dbsname[1,3] != 'sys' -- eliminates sysmaster andsysutils
and dbsname != '<name of root dbspace>' -- eliminated TBLSpace
order by 3 desc
