does anyone have a high level procedure (detail level is even nicer) to perform this upgrade? Thank you in advance!Kern -- Let's go GreenThis email contains 100% recycled electrons.
In general there are two approaches: 1. Some kind of export/import process. 2. In-place upgrade. Assuming you want to do (2) because with (1) the versions you are going from and to are less relevant, I think the key point is that you can't upgrade from 9.40 to 12.10 directly. You need an intermediate version, which from reading the docs can be 11.70. The upgrade would take place on the primary server (if you have a cluster) and would involve starting up an 11.70 instance, allowing an upgrade of the internal structures to take place and then doing the same with 12.10. There is another recent thread, "ids from 11.50 to 11.70", where in-place upgrades were discussed and I posted some links to Informix resources. Ben.
