Re: ODBC with informix

Ok Joe. I do hope however that you include a realy significant chapter on ODBC in you new book. On Informix ODBC all you would need is something like this: Informix supply a product they call Informix CLI (Call Level Interface) which realy is an ODBC driver. The MS Windows version of this is an OEM product from Intersolv. It does however have so many problems and limitations that I don't find it worth my or your time to write more about it. If you plan to use ODBC you should rather use either the OpenLink or SCO drivers. Here are some tips on how to set them up and use them effectively.... With the large number of problems people seem to have with ODBC I don't find it too bad that the OpenLink and SCO people post their responses. There is however now a good chapter on ODBC in the FAQ that one should refer to instead. Unfortunately the FAQ on the IIUG site isn't updated yet for some reason so the reference have to be to the "Beta site" for this.
