ODBC for Informix

Hi everybody !!! Now I have a doubt about the use of ODBC for Informix databases. I want to create an ODBC under Windows NT Server 4.0, using Informix tables. My idea consist in the creation of a web page that executes queries to some Informix tables via ODBC (using ASP, I suppose). I'll use Informix tables because I have an IDS 7.31 running over Sun/Solaris, and the tables I need are in that engine. My questions are: 1) What are the valid extensions of the Informix tables that I have to create in order to use them with the ODBC ??? 2) What tool is useful for translate table extensions (formats), for example, from Informix to .dbf or to another format ??? You mean filename extensions? Except for the Informix Standard Engine, Informix servers do not normally use files but RAW devices. While COOKED files are permitted there is no standard file naming convention. See your Informix DBA. > 2) What tool is useful for translate table extensions (formats), for > example, from Informix to .dbf or to another format ??? Informix provides tools for extracting tables into sharable flat file formats such as ASCII Delimited and fixed field length. Direct conversion to other database formats is not supported. But, why would one need that? Art S.
