Form not underlining

Hi, Running Informix SE 5.10.UC7, 4GL RDS 4.20.UC4 on RS6000 AIX 4.2. In my BEFORE FIELD statements I display a value to the form field with ATTRIBUTE (UNDERLINE ) but when the form is displayed on screen ready for user input, the field is not underlined. I use the underlining to give the user some notion as to how big the field is because I don't use the [ ] brackets to surround the fields; they make the screen display look cluttered. Any ideas or suggestions would be very welcome. Cheers, Sticky Pudding. -- What the large print giveth, the small print taketh away.
You need to check terminfo/termcap for the underline code. The reason may be that yor particular terminal doesn't have a correct entry. Bit late getting back on this one...sorry! Do you know what the underline code is? I use ICE.TCP as my emulating software and it is set to Wyse60. Sorry I'm late getting back to this. I don't know what to check. Any ideas? Emulating Wyse60 with ICE.TCP if that helps. There is a considerable amount of documents regarding both termcap and terminfo settings. underline would have its corresponding settings in the termcap/terminfo tables. You are also using a terminal emulator I do not know. The terminal emulator may not be fully emulating the terminal you wish (WISE60). The good thing here is that you are not stack with a dumb terminal. If you have a choice of emulating other terminals such as vt220 then try that on the pc. Do not forget you have to export TERM=vt220 on the unix machine for that user.
