Hi, if I got this right, you want to extract some text on basis of comparing two strings. You can use something like this: "select * from some_table where string1 matches "*some_text*" You can use any wildcards (?,*) in here. Or, try this: select * from some_table where string1[3,7] = "some_text" Also, try combining this two ways, e.g. Where string1 [3,7] matches "s?me_te*" Excuse my English, Andrej.
