Informix 6 - Leap Year 2000

Good Day/Evening All. We have an ancient version of Informix, i4gl reports informix version 4.10.UE2 running on a SCO OpenServer 5.0.5 box. All has been well over the millenium change but yesterday (29/02/2000) the system reported the date as 01/03/2000. Presumably because this version of informix uses date since Epoc and doesn't know 2000 is a leap year. Today it thinks the date is 03/03/2000. I know this is our own fault etc etc but is there a work around that doesn't involve recoding? At the moment we have set the Unix system data back 1 day. -- Regards Mark Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

Recompile your code using a more recent version? -- Compliments of QueriX -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- QueriX 4GL Compilers are Informix 4GL Compatible, and Connection to other RDBMS such as Oracle. Hydra 4GL Compiler (Compatible with I4GL) Compile once, run everywhere Phoenix Windows GUI. (Front End to 4GL) Chimera Java GUI The only GUI you will ever need... (Front End to 4GL) Arachne Web Technology (Front End to 4GL on the Web) ESQL/C Compiler For more details visit: http://www.querix.com/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Functions TODAY and CURRENT don't know about date 02.29.2000. But our Informix On-Line works correctly. > I know this is our own fault etc etc but is there a work around that > doesn't involve recoding? The only work around is that you must replace TODAY and CURRENT with data retrieved by PREPARE: PREPARE correct_today FROM "select today from systables where tabid=1" and PREPARE correct_current FROM "select current from systables where tabid=1" Regards, Andrey Azarov andrey_azarov@yahoo.com
Mark, It must be SCO problem. I don't have Informix on my SCO box, but another application generating reports with incorrect date as well. Shall we check with SCO first? SCO KB shows nothing relevant for INFORMIX and LEAP. I believe the bug is with this ancient version of Informix as others do not have the problem with newer versions.
