Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
ZhiWei Cui got an ontape assert warning on 11.10.FC2 that page 9:1504860 was corrupt; renaming the table, recreating it and reloading made ontape work, but it recurred. Benjamin Thompson suspected disk corruption or a defect (cited an APAR). David Williams advised dropping the corrupt old table, checking storage errors, and running errpt -a on AIX. Unresolved.

1. I use oncheck -pe datadbs1 ,I can find 9:1504860 used by which table
2. rename table tab1 to tab2;
3. create table tab1;
4. insert into tab1 select * from tab2;
5. ontape is ok

This problem often occurs. Why?

I don't think you have provided enough information to diagnose the problem.
Two possibilities though:
1. actual disk corruption due to failing hardware.
2. Informix defect.
Given you are running 11.10.FC2 which is long out of support and I don't remember Informix 11.10 fondly at all, I would suspect a defect.
Here is a candidate:

If it is this defect you may be able to work around it following the suggestion in the link.
Ben.

Hi,
After the insert do you drop tab2? You need to drop the corrupt object.
Are there any storage errors anywhere in the storage stack?
Or machine cpu/memory issues?
If not it would be an Informix defect and require an upgrade.
Regards,
David.

insert into tab1 select * from tab2
drop table tab2;ontape is ok.
I'm not very familiar with how to detect operating system logs on AIX
